Emergency Operations Center
National Aeronautics and Space Administration
HAZMED operated the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at NASA Langley Research Center. HAZMED safety professionals updated the EOC operations manual and maintained operational readiness by checking all paging, weather monitoring, alarm response, and emergency radio equipment and systems. Our staff operated the NASA Langley Research Center Cablevision Channel 11 Safety Channel.

Dosimeter Program Support
Department of Defense
HAZMED supports a dosimeter program for 200 technicians at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Army Research Laboratory. HAZMED technicians train workers in the proper use of dosimeters, collect dosimeters for shipment, and handle all ARL-required recordkeeping and reporting. HAZMED schedules annual lung studies for all radiation workers to monitor internalradiation doses carefully. HAZMED handles all reporting and recordkeeping in accordance with OSHA and ARL safety requirements.

Biohazard Waste Management
Jersey City Medical Center
A HAZMED certified industrial hygienist audited waste management practices at Jersey City Medical Center for segregation, packing, and storage of medical and biohazardous wastes. Our staff worked closely with hospital infection control personnel to develop a comprehensive biohazardous waste management training program for all medical and support employees.

Environmental Health and Safety Audit
U.S. Department of Agriculture
A HAZMED industrial hygiene and safety professional audited several USDA Headquarters buildings to investigate environmental health and safety (EHS) problems and concerns over EHS programs and practices and real property issues. HAZMED recommended specific actions and best practices to improve compliance, strengthen management systems, correct deficiencies, and increase overall EHS awareness at the USDA Headquarters Complex.

Food Inspections
National Aeronautics and Space Administration
a HAZMED certified safety professional (CSP) audited industrial safety annually and inspected food and sanitation quarterly at the NASA Langley Research Center. The CSP conducted a continuing food and sanitation education program according to the food code manual incorporating the most recent rules and regulations of the Food and Drug Administration Food Code.
